in between - i mellemtiden - tussendoor

I find celtic patterns fascinating and wanted to make a hat with them. First picture shows the idea in progress: A circular motif, which is thought to go a bit onto the sides of the hat. I draw it up, then figured out how the decreases for the top should be (based on earlier hats I made) and then tried to get these decreases incorporated in the motif by drawing a graph.

This is the result

Things I will do differently a next time (if there is going to be a next time):

use same type of yarn for both colours (the dark blue is double sock yarn and knitted up much more stiff than the green

not let the motif go so much on the sides, i think the result would be better if most of it is on top

make more evenly distributed decreases (I made a lot of decreases every 4th round in stead of half of them every 2nd round because it seemed to be easier to incorporate with the motif)

CO more stitches. This hat can fit me but it is stretched to the last fiber.

So anyway, You like it?
