California fits with me. Or at least some parts of it. LA is too big, but places like Santa Cruz, where my sister lives, or Santa Barbara, where I lived for half a year more than a decade ago, are just right.
The people, the landscape (so much beauty) the weather, the atmosphere, it just fits. Even Arnold seems to be doing okay. Just a shame with this guy in Washington who rules over it all.
Needless to say, I had a great time in CA. Specifically the last week which I spend at my sisters' and was filled with shopping, beachlife, hiking, bellydance (she, not I), a trip to San Francisco and a visit to happy hippieland Harbin Hotsprings.

I knitted maybe half a row in these two weeks, mostly because I couldn't knit on planes (no needles allowed) and I wouldn't knit during car trips (too much to see outside, and besides, I tended to get a little nauseous from all the bends in the road). But of course, I had to visit a local yarn shop and here's a picture of it: The golden fleece. I didn't find other yarn shops in Santa Cruz, but having this one, who needs another? There were loads and loads of wonderfull yarns and some really nice people inside. So I bought some yarn which I will show you later, as my suitcase has not arrived at my home yet. Heathrow has a new software system for dealing with passengers' luggage, I'm just warning ya.

Sounds like a great trip, CA is a wonderful place to visit.
Next time: knitting needles are allowed on US bound flights out of CPH.
Great job on the drop spindle, look forward to seeing more.
BTW I think I spotted you at work a few weeks ago.
Fijn dat je weer veilig thuis bent!
Det høres ut som om du har hatt en kjempeflott tur :-)
I liked California, too, when I worked there one summer (a long time ago!) But nice to have you back :) Did you get my parcel?
the curse may be on ba, not heathrow... last time i flew with them i experienced the same. in my luggage: a 60% done cardigan. aaargh! luckily the bag was delivered at my guesthouse three days later. only hours before the event i came for, just when i was about to buy an expensive party dress on ba's account. prutsers.
mmm. I grew up in and around Santa Barbara. I still long for that light quality, some days, although I know I'll never go back to live.
