a knitted WHAT???
I love organic forms. I signed up for a yahoo group on freeform crochet and I have together with DH been collecting some art nouveau items (nothing expensive, still beautiful) over the years - (art nouveau being very organic inspired).
So then I found out about some mathematicians creating hyperbolic planes in crochet, that being very organic too, and at the same time mathematical (fascinating, but terrifying stuff, mathematics (I have a highschool trauma there)).
And then I wondered, this thought being triggered by my professional career calling for me to know more about neurology (I work with language and have started to be involved in speech pathology recently), would there be anybody who has ever knitted a brain????
and guess what - someone has! The knitted brain even is anatomically correct!
I am amazed.

Bijzonder mooi haakwerk. Hou ervan dat een ambachtelijke techniek nu eens niet 'nuttig' gebruikt wordt maar als kunst.
En het gebreide brei(n):boeiend.
To knit an anatomically correct brain must be quite a job, I'm really impressed. There's a lot of different shapes and forms. I'm looking forward to seeing your organic crocheted items. Have a nice weekend :-)
Doesn't knitting allegedly use both sides of the brain?
Oh, so many puns could be made out of your blog.
I love the hyperbolic shapes, to. I experiment with them, sometimes, and then turn them into hats. Then again, I can get a nice hyperbolic shape from crocheting without paying much attention. Ha.
