What's this?

It is a tentacle bag that's what it is. (Like that helps) Well if you really want to know, look in Cat Bordhis second treasury of magical knitting. You can also scroll down, there's a picture in this blog of the cover of the book and the tentacle bag is on it.

So these pointy things are tentacles, and there are actually two bag compartments, of which the smaller will fall into the bigger one when finished. It looks weird now, but hopefully better when done and felted.
At this point I have several concerns: 1. will I have enough yarn for this bag? 2. will the straps become the desired length after felting (this is a matter of swatching and math, I know) and 3. will the yarn actually felt?
I made this bag from second hand yarn which I do not know actually what is! I am quite sure that there is a fair amount of wool in it, if not 100%, but it might actually be superwash!

I know I am foolish, but I hate to do swatches. And this time, (once again) I am willing to face total failure in stead of doing the swatch.
