Blogs and ravelry and jumping stones

It is so nice to see that people still read my blog. I feel like Ravelry took over a lot of the functions my blog was doing until then: Showing what I work on, discusson of issues to do with knitting (or crochet), and, very occasionally touching on the more personal issues in life. To date, my blog has mainly been about reporting on knitting and the projects I do, and not much else that goes on in my life and/or in my thoughts. With the creation of Ravelry, the documentation of (finished and unfinished) knitting projects first and foremost goes on there - and so I will have to think about this blog and what purpose it may serve. I wonder whether other people have the same thoughts.
So let me tell you about something else than knitting: Yesterday I ran with my daughter (we're on the eleventh week of the beginners' schedule) - 4 times 10 minutes, with a minute of walking between. We run in the woods, near our house, on a path that follows the Odense river. It is beautiful. But yesterday it rained, and not just a little bit. We got wet, but that was no problem. Because of the clouds it was darker than it normally would be at that time of day, but that in itself is not really a problem either. The real problem were the dark stones on the path, that, just when you would land with your foot close by it, would hop about 30 centimeters to the left, right or somewhere in between. Of course they were not really stones, but frogs. There were a lot. I guess they come out from the bushes and plants near the river were they sit during the day whenever it gets wet and dark. Now my daughter and I are people with a heart for animals and so a worstcase scenario would be of one of us landing ON one of those frogs. It would be bad for the frog and also the mess and we might slide and everything. So everytime something dark that we would initially take for a stone or leaf jumped, we would wince, and my daughter would even panic, so we decided to do the rest of the run on the boring streets by the houses. But you know what? They were everywhere. In the end there even was one (a big one) in the front of our house. I am telling you: Frogs are taking over the world. In a hundred million years, Giant Frogs will find fossilized humans and talk about how they once ruled the world.
Oh, and yes, I finished a pair of socks.

Amen to that :)
No, really, the frog invasion must have been a nightmare. It has been raining here for the whole summer but luckily we don't have the same problem. Yet?
Do go on writing your blog. On Ravelry, you can show your work but I like to read your stories, as well :)
